I'm a general practitioner based in New York City and the founder of DoctorK.nyc. Growing up in Texas, I excelled in math, science and foreign language and knew that I was destined to become a physician. I spent my undergraduate career studying foreign culture and language--Spanish, Arabic and Hebrew--interpersonal skills and cultural competency essential to connecting with and treating patients from a diversity of backgrounds. After graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania, I attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where I developed passions for preventive medicine, healthcare efficiency and medical education. I completed my Internal Medicine Internship at Mount Sinai Elmhurst, a city hospital in Queens that attends to the most diverse zip code in the country. An avid world explorer, I have traveled to over 50 countries and lived in the Middle East and South America.
I became increasingly frustrated with a medical industry that focuses entirely on cure of disease. I knew that prevention should be the focus. So, I created a solution: DoctorK.nyc, a concierge health + wellness service designed to keep healthy people healthy.
